2. Data Collection
We value minimal data collection. When you register on the PB Rewards App, we collect only the personal information necessary to create your account, as follows.
- Name and Mobile Number: Required to create and manage your account.
- Contacts Access (Phone Contacts): With your explicit permission, we access your contact list to allow you to view and gift points to other users in your contact list who are registered with PB Rewards. This data is processed locally and temporarily synced with our backend to enable seamless identification of registered users. No contacts are stored permanently on our servers.
- Location Information: With your consent, we may access your device’s location to support location-based features (e.g., locating nearby partner outlets or dealers for gift redemption). Location is used only while the app is in use and is not stored persistently.
- Gallery/Photos Access: With your permission, we allow you to upload a profile picture from your gallery. The image is securely uploaded to our servers and associated with your profile. We do not access any other media or folders.
- No Collection of Sensitive Personal Data: We do not collect any sensitive personal data such as passwords (the App uses OTP for login without a password), financial information, health information, or biometric identifiers. The App also does not intentionally collect any information from your device’s sensors or other apps.
3. Data Usage
We strictly use your data to provide and improve the App’s services and for no other purpose. The information we collect is used in the following ways:
- Account Creation and Authentication: Your name and phone number are used to create your account and verify your identity. We send an OTP to your phone via Twilio to authenticate you each time you log in or when you register, ensuring that the account is rightfully yours.
- Reward Point Transactions: We use your account information to record and manage your reward points. For example, when you scan a QR code, our system credits points to your account; when you gift points to another user, we debit and credit the respective accounts.
- Internal Communications: If the App offers an internal chat or messaging feature (provided via Socket.io), the data you input (messages) is used to deliver those messages to the intended recipient within the App. We do not access or use those messages for any purpose outside providing the chat service.
- Customer Support and Account Management: If you contact us for support, we may use your account information to help resolve your issue. We might also use your phone number or in-app notifications to send important account or service-related messages.
- Improvement and Security: Internally, we may analyze usage patterns to improve our services and monitor for fraudulent activity.
We do not use your personal information for any marketing or advertising purposes, nor do we engage in any form of user tracking across third-party apps or websites.
